on 2007-08-26 09:21 am (UTC)The way you told Samantha’s story and so that her different shapes and back grounds actually make sense, something the show lost, but which I love here. You really made the memory and Mulder’s longing for closure a tangible thing. Beautiful, razor-sharp cutting and ugly when he is confronted with the knowledge that he has to let her go. And the way she is slipping out of his fingers, Scully is storming into his life.
This isn’t about simple love, but the entire yin yang that made their love to such sight of utter beauty. He is so completely lost without his soul mate kicking his ass if necessary and the touchstone Scully is for him comes through so damn wonderful. You made me love Mulder more with this video and this from someone who didn’t think that was possible. Plus I adore how your colours turned out and your whole take on the effects through the video, you enhanced the mood to an extreme without distracting in the slightes. Wonderful job, my love! And you really don’t need to hate it anymore – it’s so pretty and shiny!

on 2007-10-07 11:16 pm (UTC)I don't mean to be a bother in any way since I've already gushed about this video (it really is one of my favorite XF fanvids), but one thing I've noticed is that you somehow found a way around the varying aspect ratios issue! Basically, I'm just curious what editing software you use to navigate around this problem, because I can't recall ever seeing another vid that managed to incorporate clips not only from all the seasons, but also the movie (which is of course anamorphic, so it often comes out looking stretched) in an all-inclusive size.
I'm attempting to fanvid myself at the moment, and I'd love any insight you might have to offer on how to work around this ever-present nuisance that comes with XF footage. Thanks very much in advance for any help you might give, and thank you again for sharing this wonderful video. :)

on 2007-10-08 01:09 am (UTC)did that make sense? well the reason why 4:3 is grainer is because of the change. If you watch the original footage you'll notice how much gets cut off. You noticed alot of "tops of heads" are slightly cut off. With the Movie it was much simpler. I just made sure what i wanted was showing.
Sorry i'm bad at explaining. I'm a sucker for everything to look right and kinda obessive about it. What program do you use?

on 2007-10-08 02:13 am (UTC)At the moment, all I've got available to me is Windows Movie Maker, which I understand is very limited (and I doubt I could get around this issue with it). However, a friend of mine who works at a software retailer might be able to get me a copy of Adobre Premiere for much less than what it usually goes for. Do you consider it worth the pricetag, capability-wise (and which version do you use, if you don't mind my asking)?

on 2007-10-08 02:17 am (UTC)yeah wmm doesn't give you much custom room to the point were i can't even try to use it anymore. And it all depends on you and how far you wanna go with the vids and editing.

on 2007-10-08 02:30 am (UTC)It's more likely I'll be able to get ahold of Adobe Premiere Elements (which, if past Photoshop nomenclature and my bit of research holds, means it's a more limited version of the Pro line), which I'm hoping will be able to at least do that much.
