lol. i use Adobe Premiere. And yeah the Aspect Ratio was kinda a bitch to work around. Basically i committed to the 16:9 ratio and worked with the 4:3 and movie clips to and adjusted them to fill the window in ratio...

did that make sense? well the reason why 4:3 is grainer is because of the change. If you watch the original footage you'll notice how much gets cut off. You noticed alot of "tops of heads" are slightly cut off. With the Movie it was much simpler. I just made sure what i wanted was showing.

Sorry i'm bad at explaining. I'm a sucker for everything to look right and kinda obessive about it. What program do you use?

That sounds like the best idea to me (committing to 16:9, that is; I've always preferred the look of it to 4:3). I did guess, from the look of the video, that you manipulated the non-16:9 footage to fill the frame properly, I'm just unsure of which programs you can accomplish that with.

At the moment, all I've got available to me is Windows Movie Maker, which I understand is very limited (and I doubt I could get around this issue with it). However, a friend of mine who works at a software retailer might be able to get me a copy of Adobre Premiere for much less than what it usually goes for. Do you consider it worth the pricetag, capability-wise (and which version do you use, if you don't mind my asking)?

Adobe premiere pro 2.0, i have cs3 but i haven't transitioned over yet.

yeah wmm doesn't give you much custom room to the point were i can't even try to use it anymore. And it all depends on you and how far you wanna go with the vids and editing.

I'm generally not much into adding too many effects and whatnot; I'm more interested in a program that won't crash all the time (like WMM tends to do) and that can allow me to tweak aspect ratio.

It's more likely I'll be able to get ahold of Adobe Premiere Elements (which, if past Photoshop nomenclature and my bit of research holds, means it's a more limited version of the Pro line), which I'm hoping will be able to at least do that much.

you know i never worked with Premiere Elements but from what it seems like it might be just want you would want. and its so much easier to clip, clips . Probably a good choice.

Awesome, thank you very much! Most likely, I'll go with that -- I don't need anything too fancy, and it sounds just about right for me. And thanks again for your time and the helpful info. :)
